Shree Hanuman Vyayam Shala has founded in the year 1900 when Independence Struggle was going on. Its First Founder was Shri. Balakrishna Potdar who was hailing from Sholapur and was born at Akkalkot of Sholapur District. The main aim was to achieve Freedom from British rule in the country , as well as from Nizam’s rule.

Shri. Balakrishna Potdar came to Hyderabad at the age of 20 and got a job at Karorgir. He started the Youth Training Institution by setting an Akhada at Vivek Vardhani School complex. At the later day, the Akhada was to be shifted due to cancellation of permission by Vivek Vardhani Society. Shri. Balakrishna Potdar shifted his activities at Smt.Lakki Bai’s house on a rental basis at Vittal Maruthi Lane. Shri. Balakrishna Potdar was accompanied by Youth namely Satholekar , Jamadagni, Raghunath Gadgil etc., He was parting Training to Youth such as Lathi, Talwar, Kusti etc.,. As the Institution was getting support from local mass, the activities were shifted to Kanda Swamy Bagh were it continued till 1952. Later it changed over to Sultan Bazar Area acquiring present Hanuman Vyayam Shala .

Freedom struggle was spearheaded by Late. Ramanand Tirth, the then President of Hyderabad Congress Committee. During his period Shri.Jamadagni and Vishwanath carried the Torch of the Hanuman Vyayam Shala after the demise of Shri. Balakrishna Potdar.

Shri. Jamadagni and Vishwanath gave selfless, dedicated Service to Hanuman Vyayam Shala and foundation laid for betterment of society in running the Physical Training Centres and also felt that we should have a society of eminent Leaders.

It is after sudden demise of Sri. Balakrishna Potdar, the mantle of managing the institution was shouldered by Late. Sri. Jamadagni Ustad, a guiding star of the institution. After his passing away, the entire responsibility was borne by Sri. Poojya Noble being Late. Sri.Vishwanath master who indefatiguably did valuable service for almost six decades.

Consequent to death of Sri.Ramanand Tirth, President of HVS, the responsibility of presidentship was held by Late. Sri.L.N.Gupta, the then Principal Secretary, Education Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

On acquiring place at Sultan Bazar the society constructed a building and the same was inaugurated by the First Prime Minister of India Sri. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in the year 1953. During the inaugural address, the Prime Minister of India, while eulogising the freedom fighting movement by the institution and National service through Indian Physical Culture activities for the wellbeing of youth, in particular and society of secular character, as a whole, for communal harmony, universal brotherhood, irrespective of region and religion, he ventilated his mind to develop General Education in situation, as an integrated programme with physical Education for the total development of personality of the youth.

After having relinquished the post of President by Late Sri. L.N.Gupta, Late Sri. Vasudev Naik, Deputy Speaker Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly worked as a President for a good number of years. During his Presidentiship, the institution undertook quite a number of infrastructural expansions which made the HVS to go into lime light, in every nook and corner of the country and earned the recognition by the State and Central Government.

In consonance with Prime Minister’s suggestion the society was considering to take up other activities besides Physical ones. The present activities of the Hanuman Vyayam Shala were mostly, Indian Style of wrestling, Indian type of gym for body building, Weight lifting etc., along with preparation of young children for physical activities by training them for the games like Kabadi, Kho-Kho, Lazyms etc., during the evening times. As the things were getting expanded vertically and horizontally in various activities Sri. Vishwanath Master was designated as Superintendent of the Society and society was formed with eminent persons of that era, namely Sri.Vasudev Naik, Sri. Ramesh Lahoti, Sri. Padma Rao, Sri.Bikshapathi, Sri.Madhukar Panjiker, Sri. S.Ratnam, Sri. Nana Malkoteker, Sri. D.K.Lele etc., who were meeting often to review the progress of the society and also give valuable suggestions for the wellbeing of Hanuman Vyayam Shala society.

Considering the advice of the Prime Minster the society felt to take initiative in education field and ventured upon to commence the General Education with Primary School in 1962. During this period it was felt by the members that few posts are to be created for running the society smoothly, accordingly Sri. S.Ratnam was appointed as Hon.Secretary to the Hanuman Vyayam Shala Society. In the beginning a single teacher enrolment of 30 pupil, which grown to Middle and High School, as years rolled on, the strength rose to 2000 students of Boys and Girls, with more than 100 Teaching and Non-Teaching staff, the Institution has now become a full fledged one. The school results at S.S.C Public Examination have always been 100 percent with a majority of students in a distinction. The school is known for its higher standard Education, perfect discipline, standards in sports and cultural activities. It is an happy augry that every parent from Twin Cities look forward to admit their child into H.V.S High School. Thus the H.V.S School has been gaining reputation, year after year during 70’s and 80’s.

The society was running full of its activities in Physical as well as Academic side. Under the Presidentship of Sri. Vasudev Naik, the Hon.Secretary Sr. S.Ratnam rendered his valuable servies and brought the school on par with any old Institution of its repute during that period namely Viveka Vardhini, Rosary Convent, All Saints etc. This was the period of importance for physical as well as Academic was given by the relentless services of Sri.S.Ratnam.

Sri. S.Ratnam was brought up from the beginning in the atmosphere/culture of Hanuman Vyayam Shala under the guidance of Sri.S.Vishwanath Master who was his eleder brother.

As the reputation of High School was on par with other schools and the response of the public was so much in demand for Admission in various classes were extended to cater the demands of the public. Seeing the activities of the High School at the orison it was felt that why not society take up the project to establish a Public School. The main idea of establishing the Public school ie, CBSE( Central Syllabus) is to cater the needs of middle and lower middle class sections. Accordingly the school was setup in the year 1984 in the close viscinity of Hanuman Vyayam Shala High School. The Hanuman Vyayam Shala Public School was established and no sooner building was constructed Architecturally designed of a quadrangular shape with oval shaped open stadium with stands for a capacity of 5000 spectators. The entire area was designed by one of the members of HVS Society namely Sri. Subhash R Kulkarni whose services for the construction purpose were opted on honorary basis. The quality of Education and sports standard, as an integral part of General Education has been the priority of the Institution. The good results in the Public Examination speak for itself, as an ideal HVS Public School.

The intake capacity of students increasing year by year, ranging to 1000-1500. The science labs and library facility are superb. The students are given good exposure to co-curricular activities, Social Service programmes and spiritual education, in order to develop Total personality of Physical, intellectual, Emotional and Ethical being.

In short the HVS Society runs HVS High School (Aided) , HVS Public School (CBSE) as Academic side. Beside this for physical activities the Institution is having Gym, Swimming, Indian type of physical activities, besides various sports for children and middle aged people.

The institution which is a private, voluntary and Non-political organization hums with activities from morning 4.30 AM to 8.30 PM with physical, intellectual, cultural, spiritual to integrate Body, Mind and Spirit. The Public School was having intake of students day by day and the results were also appreciated from various quarters of persons.

From the inception of the school Sri. S.Ratnam was Hon.Secretary and looking after the matters related to CBSE etc. But in the month of October 2014 ie, on 02.10.2014 Sri.S.Ratnam expired due to illness at Hospital . On the expiry of Sri.S.Ratnam, Hanuman Vyayam Shala Society and Educational Society requested Sri. Subhash R Kulkarni to take over post of Hon.Secretary and carried forward the activities of Public School. Accordingly Subhash R Kulkarni took over as Hon.Secretary on 6th November 2014. He was looking after the Public School which runs under CBSE.

Sri. Subhash R Kulkarni is an Old Associate of Hanuman Vyayam Shala since 1953. He was associated with Sri. S.Ratnam from 1954 till last date of his demise .

Sri. Subhash R Kulkarni is a graduate of two disciplines ie, Mechanical and Electrical engineering and served various organization ie., PWD, IDPL, ECIL, AEG and Atomic Energy at Mumbai. Later he was posted at NFC and served for that organization forb a period of 29 years. He retired from Atomic Energy in the year January 2000. During his service he held various posts at NFC and Retired on 31st January 2000. After his retirement, being a Philanthropist he served various voluntary organizations for the benefit of the society. The Public School is working under his guidance and the main post are Principal, Administrative Staff supported by various teachers. Presently the school is having intake of 1300 students.

The present Principal of Public School is Mrs. Umeshwari Bhatnagar, She is MA, B.Ed and has an experience of 5 years as Pricipal of HVS Public School and 28 years of Teaching Experience.

Present activities of the school are: Fully equipped Hey Maths Lab, Animation classes, Smart Class, Library, Science Lab etc.

Various Sports Activities: Kho-Kho, Kabadi, Roller Skating,Volley Ball, Cricket, Basket Ball.

Besides this for the safety of the students Fire extinguishers, Safe Drinking Water, ample Number of Toilets, Well ventilated and spacious class rooms with fans, Medical room is also provided.
